Welcome to The Sleeping Almanac. Tonight the long stay on the island of Calypso ends, the gods in the high air decide the wanderer may go home at last, and he builds a raft with his own hands and sails alone by the stars. The sea has one more storm to send, and a kind goddess a veil to save him, before a gentle river carries him to rest on a bed of leaves under two olive trees. A calm, hopeful telling for sleep, calm enough to drift to and rich enough to stay awake for if you choose.
Close your eyes. Let the fire on the beach burn low. There is nothing to do now but listen and rest.
