The voice you hear is the creator's own. He cloned it from recordings of his own voice, so every story is told in his voice. If you enjoy falling asleep to it, follow the show so each new story arrives on its own, and leave a rating on Apple Podcasts so other people can find it.

Thirty five chapters in the middle of the Book of Enoch, preserved in Ge'ez, with no identified Aramaic or Greek manuscript witness to the Parables. Their absence among identified cave fragments does not prove the ancient collection never held them. Tonight, the Book of Parables, opened whole: a figure with a head of days and hair white like wool, and beside him one who looks like a man, chosen and hidden before the sun was made, the staff of the righteous and the hope of the troubled of heart. Four voices around a throne, and the fourth voice keeping the accusers out. Wisdom coming down to look for a house and going home to sit with the angels. Six mountains of metal that melt like wax so there is no iron for war. Two monsters parted on one day, one for the sea and one for the desert. The thunder waiting in its place of rest, the hail a good angel, the mist with a room of its own, and a measure for the rain. Angels flying north with cords to find the ones the sea took. The oath that holds the sea behind the sand. And the name given at the end to the man who watched it all, that later readers in another faith recognised, and have argued about since. Then the two dreams Enoch had as a boy, the sky falling, and the whole of history as a white bull and a flock of sheep among wild beasts, and the ten weeks of the world that end with weeks without number. A three hour sleep story, the sixth night of Season Six, The Lost Books, and the middle of the season. Framed by an imagined copyist opening the box of leaves he has already copied in a round highland church in Ethiopia. The Book of Enoch is scripture in the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and is also among the sacred books preserved by Beta Israel. Manuscripts and readers now exist beyond those communities. This is a Jewish book, usually dated before or around the time of Jesus, without naming him, and it says what it says. An authentic book is not the same as a true event.
